its 9 am in new orleans and i am figuring out the morning rush - planning what we will do here, getting the kids up and dressed and also chalking out the driving directions for the day - what detours we could manage so we see some real countryside off the InterState. it was tempting to venture into the georgia countryside but we got stuck behing a hearst procession and lost almost an hour there!
i have been booking hotels from the road and they tell us - 'this is less than 24 hours, you will not be able to cancel, are you sure?' (smile) and blogging! its possible to spend a lot of time thinking about hotels - historic/chain, gym, breakfast, rates...so many little details to think of.
there is usually one meal on the road - and the choices of fast food places are varied. we plan to venture into some that we have not tried before.

got to go - the kids are having a pillow-fight in the bathroom........
