Long overdue picture post 4: The long drive from Nawlins to Austin

This blog was not called "Its all ride" for nothing. The ride from New Orleans to Austin seemed to last forever. Through hardcore drill-baby-drill country. Did not realize how much hydrocarbon extraction was still a big industry till driving through what will become I-49 corridor, away from NOLA and from the Gulf coast. The funny thing, though, was the size and diversity large SUVs that everyone, but everyone, seemed to be driving. In fact, it seemed to me that if all these people drove more fuel-efficient cars or did not drive at all, they would not need to to drill!
