Long overdue picture post 1: Savannah

We have been taking lots of pictures, but downloading to the computer, sorting through, and uploading is proving to be tougher than I thought. In any case, here is a big picture post. Images start from Savannah, GA - where we spent our second night on the road.
I had a very close shave the next day as we were making our, on US 84, avoiding the Interstate. Got pulled over by a police car for doing 60 mph on a 45mph section!! The guy saw the plates and asked if we were from out of town. I apologized for speeding and told him about our cross-country journey. Obviously, a sympatico, he let me go with just a warning and best wishes for the rest of the trip! Pity I did not take a picture with him. But then that might have gotten him into trouble.
In any case, here come the pictures. Starts with Savannah, then the Georgia countryside, followed by New Orleans, Louisiana + Texas countryside, Austin and then finally the drive from Austin to Albuquerque - our longest thus far. With lots of windmills in the background and old oil donkeys in the foreground. The future and past of energy.

On the riverfront, around the old Cotton Exchange in Savannah.
